Project Description
Vela is a constellation that is Latin for the sails of a ship. In order to bring additional Internet Service Provider (ISP) diversity to our quorum set, as well as to the Stellar network as a whole, we launched Vela and Volans using Digital Ocean. Thus, we felt the sails of a ship fit well. Further, Vela is located in Singapore, which is a massive hub for ocean travel. Finally, being Vela is on the lower end of the hardware requirements to run Stellar Core, we felt the small stature of a sail boat was of the right symbolic proportion.
